A quick but informative introduction to the New Woodcut Movement of the 1930′s and 1940′s, focusing on key points such as Lu Xun, the Japanese invasion of China, the role of women in society, and the use of art in the formative years of the Chinese Communist Party.  As a section of a larger site, this page is a link to a broader introduction to Chinese history & culture.
